Mark McArthur interviews Dr. Mike Keepe from The University of Arizona about his research into one of the most legendary and influential early American saxophone quartets, the Hollywood Saxophone Quartet.  He shares some of the experiences researching the members, Russell Cheever, Jack Dumont, Morris Crawford, and William Ulyate.  Almost no information was available until some unexpected calls led right to the families and a treasure trove of memories just waiting to be discovered.  Enjoy this episode which hopefully brings light to a few members of the saxophone world who influenced an entire generation of enthusiasts.
